Clinique Haul

So just before Christmas Debenhams had a 15% off event with a raffle, champagne and truffles and it would have just been downright rude of me not to pay them a visit. Clinique were one of the first higher end brands I discovered and I have always been loyal to their Dramatically Different moisturiser so I was really excited to delve into the shelves and get lost in my own little makeup world.

There has been a few bits from Clinique that I have been coveting for a while now, but particularly their Cheek Pop blushes and, in the end I chose the shade Plum Pop, a really beautiful and vibrant almost purply toned blush that translates onto the skin with a flawless finish. A little application goes a long way so a quick sweep over the apples of your cheeks and you have a beautiful wash of colour, something a bit different to my usual pinks/reds but I'm so glad I picked something it up because it is such a lovely colour and the formula is absolutely spot on.

Another product I'd had my eye on for a while was their Moisture Surge CC Cream and I was not disappointed! The assistant colour matched me and it should  go without saying that I was the lightest shade in the range, but it is a perfect match for me. It's a very sheer, your-skin-at-it's-best kind of product as it doesn't offer a huge amount of coverage, but with dryness and the occasional oiliness on my chin my only problem points, this  little tube fits the bill perfectly for me. I love everything about it, the consistency, the blendability, the color - just everything. I think I got my first ever high end foundation from Clinique when I was about 14, and they still continue to make great bases 5 years down the line.

The final product I picked up was their a lipstick in the shade Matte Plum, a really beautiful deep deep purple, which I can only compare to Suzie's Topshop Lip Bullet in Get Me Bodied. This applies beautifully and feels really moisturizing on the lips, however its a matte finish so once you've applied this, it ain't going anywhere in a hurry. Aside from the infamous Chubby Sticks this is the first lipstick I've tried from Clinique, and to say impressed would be a serious understatement!

I also re-purchased an old favourite, if it ain't broke don't fix it and of course I am talking about the Clinique High Impact Mascara. I love this stuff because it gives the lashes an instant lift and heaps of volume in just two coats. You can stick to just the one if you are going for a more natural look, but I prefer to build it up to accentuate those lashes and this does the job very nicely indeed.

Finally we have a skincare item and if you have dry and dehydrated skin then all I will say is keep reading! I have pretty much always used Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizer, but when I ran out I was keen to try something new and their Moisture Surge range seemed right up my street. I picked up the Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief moisturiser and I have been far from disappointed. I only picked this up about two weeks ago and I have been using it night and morning ever since and I can honestly say I have noticed a real difference. My skin feels instantly hydrated and plump straight after application and make up applies like a dream as it sinks in so quickly! A little goes a long way so I can see this little tub of magic lasting me a loooong time - hats off to Clinique!

Have you picked up anything you've been coveting or maybe discovered a real gem in the beauty sales?
