There are just some days where us girls either don't want to, or don't have time to put on a full face of slap and this calls for one routine and one routine only - the five product face. Honestly? I almost always fall into the latter category of waking up late and having to resort to grab a handful of products in order to resemble a human being for uni (as opposed to the zombie that I feel). I think after a few trials and tribulations I have a little array of products now that give me that extra ten minutes in bed and a face that is looking fresh.
First up is base, and at the moment (*touch wood*) my skin has been really clear, sure there is the odd blackhead and one particularly annoying dry patch on my nose but other than that I haven't got anything to complain about; so on a five product face day I turn to the Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base (phew) in the shade 01 - Rose. This just really helps breathe a bit of life into a tired and sallow looking complexion without being cakey, and as the name suggests it does enhance radiance back into your skin and leaves you with a lovely, dewy, my-best-skin-day-but-better kind of look. I absolutely love this stuff, I will often wear it underneath a foundation that is fairly matte just to brighten things up or on it's own and I don't think a day has passed since I got it for my birthday in May where I haven't used it. Carrying on with the base theme, I will then go in with my Estee Lauder Double Wear Brush On Glow BB Highlighter in the shade 01 Light (Cool) to brighten up my ridiculously dark circles and highlight my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose and on my cupids bow. This stuff is priceless for those who suffer with really dark, almost purple, dark circles and I am even going to go as far to say that I actually prefer this to my once beloved YSL Touche Eclat ! Next up to add a bit of colour back into my face I turn to my trusty Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Diffused Heat which is a kind of blush/highlighter hybrid with the most beautiful poppy hue. I bought this mid last year and I still haven't hit pan and I use it almost everyday, 5 product face or not. It's an absolutely gorgeous blush/highlight and it just transforms a look in a matter of sweeps. For lashes I have opted for a particularly pricey mascara but hear me out guys, I think this is The One. I got this for my birthday back in May and I have just never been a mascara junkie, its always been about lipsticks with me but as soon as I applied this I just knew I would not and could not be parted from it, what mascara am I talking about? It's the Chantecaille Faux Cils Mascara in black. As EssieButton would probably say, it's the bomb.com, it just ticks ALL the boxes! Massive volume, length, jet black colour, no flakiness and not too much of a pain to remove. At £35 you would expect it to be as good as I am making it out to be but trust me, it is all those things and more and I am dreading the day my beloved chrome tube runs out. Finally, what would a 5 product face post be without a good nude that Kylie Jenner would be proud of? My current favourite is from Topshop and it is in the shade Innocent. It's a classic pale pink with brown undertones and a velvet finish for smooth, moisturised and nourished lips. I only picked this up about a week or so before Christmas but I am already totally hooked, and as Topshop have a habit of discontinuing really great lipsticks - I'mma need to stock up!
