Loving Lately #2 Autumnal Makeup
Wow! I actually followed through with my little mini series of loving lately posts, I hope you guys are enjoying reading them as much as I am enjoying putting them together?
We have officially hit autumn here in the UK so that means it is time to crack out the plums, the burgundies and the deep brown hues in homage to the changing season.
I am absolutely loving this base from Clinique, they call it a CC Cream but the coverage is above and beyond, super buildable or as light as your heart desires and I have been reaching for this over my favourite L'oreal True Match which is a bold step for me! I feel like this is a product that has been overlooked by beauty bloggers but if you are looking for a colour correcting base that is lightweight yet buildable, than I highly recommend checking this one out (the shade range is also very impressive too!). I have had a few blemishes recently around my nose and on my chin so to combat those I have been reaching for my Nars Creamy Concealer in Vanilla and just pat it in for a more natural look as this stuff is pretty darn thick! Continuing with the whole base theme, to highlight my under eye circles I have of course been sticking with the Estee Lauder Double Wear Brush On Glow BB Highlighting Pen but sadly it is very much on it's last legs so if anyone has any heavy duty brightening recommendations then please do let me know!
Right now that the base is done, we can move onto the fun bit - eyes and lips! I came up with this particular look in the car on the way to uni (don't worry I wasn't driving!) and I am so pleased with how it came out I knew I had to share it with you guys. For the eyes, I just messily caked this Bourjois Colour Band eyeshadow stick in the shade Brun Dadaiste all over my lid and blended it out with a fluffy brush and then went back in and made a dinky flick. I also used it as an eye liner on my lower lash line just to make it a bit more of a deep and dramatic look. I mentioned this eyeshadow stick in this post so I won't bang on too much about it other than the colour pay off is flawless and it is a product that I think could rival some of it's higher end counterparts! I wanted really black, dramatic lashes and my weapon of choice was the YSL Faux Cils Mascara, which is all kinds of wonderful. For brows it was just a quick brush through of Benefit's Gimme Brow and for blush I used the MAC Mineralize Blush in the shade Sweet Sentiment (which, annoyingly I cannot find a link for!) - a really pretty dusky pink that verges on plum.
I own rather a lot of plum/burgundy lipsticks, in fact it is the colour I probably own the most of, but my favourite plum lipsticks come from YSL and the shade I have been loving and used in this look is the YSL Rouge Pur Couture lipstick in 54, a really beautiful, deep deep plum. In hindsight I probably should have used a lip brush but I don't tend to keep them in the car...
Aaaand that is all of the make up I have been loving lately!
