Over the past few months I have been on the hunt for a few home decor bits and bobs to spruce up my bare white walls and add a bit more of "Phoebe" to my otherwise sparse bedroom. It doesn't have to cost the earth to make your room feel more homely and although I haven't photographed them here, Matalan and Primark do some lovely scatter cushions and M&S do the most dreamy bed linen, not forgetting Not on the Highstreet and Etsy's gorgeous range of fairy lights.
Anyway on to how I've been brightening up my four walls. Kate from Gh0stparties and Rebecca from From Roses have been my major inspiration behind this little gallery wall, I could spend hours looking through their home posts because everything they do, right down to a plant pot they use or a photo frame is just right up my street and I get serious room envy whenever something pops up on Instagram or Bloglovin. The focal piece on this wall was an illustration done by my incredibly talented sister (you can check out her facebook page and show her your support here) as a birthday present and I absolutely love it. I love monochrome and all the intricacies of the lines and patterns are just beautiful. If I had to choose a favorite bit it would either be the crescent moon on the top right or the bear in the bottom right corner, but the whole piece is just incredible and it always gets complimented on. Surrounding that, I have some postcards from Paperchase which were only 60p each! Working clockwise we have a really pretty calligraphy-water colour-esque reading "Carpe Diem" which of course means "seize the day". This is on of my favorites, not only because of the design but because it serves as great little reminder every single day to live it to the fullest. These feel-good postcards are a kind of running theme but I think they are a great way of brightening up a blank space and trying to maintain a positive mindset. Paris is one of the beautiful and cultural places in Europe so I simply couldn't resist picking this one up, especially as a trip is on the cards this year! I wont go through all my inspirational feel-good postcards because I think they speak for themselves, but I thought that this little elephant was perfect because not only have I had the amazing opportunity to take an elephant ride through rural Thailand, but I just thought he complimented my sister's piece perfectly.
I am looking to add some plants and maybe a weekly bunch of flowers to my dresser because I love flowers and how they can just lift a room instantly and a lot more pieces to go on the always expanding gallery wall, so if you guys have any suggestions where I can get my paws on some more postcards, prints or artwork please leave them in the comments section down below!
I really hope you enjoyed a bit of a different post from me today and i will keep you updated on my home decor quests!
