Loving Lately: Makeup #1

Sometimes we fall in love with a product and it is simply all we use until we discover something else and repeat this whole process. For me, these are the products I've been reaching for daily for a while now and it's high time they deserved a mention. I'm thinking of doing a series of "Loving Lately" posts, it'll probably be sporadic but let me know in the comments section down below if that's something you would be interested in seeing!

I am going to start off with base seeing as (unless I'm doing a lot of eyeshadow) it is the step I use first and recently the only one I've been reaching for is the Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream and I have it in the lightest shade. I'm quite lucky with regard to my skin because I'm only prone to blemishes with hormones or stress but my skin does tend to look a little lack lustre, a bit uneven and just pretty flat, so I always opt for something light to medium coverage but with always with a dewy finish. I love Clinique, it was the first high end make up I tried and I've loved it ever since. Bearing in mind this is a CC cream the coverage is really good, it really evens out the skin and gives hit a really healthy "my skin but better" effect. It's so comfortable to wear and as its part of their moisture surge range it keeps everything nice and hydrated throughout the day.

Next up is a powder from MAC. I always set my makeup, particularly under my eyes and on my chin but I've been dusting the MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in the shade natural. It's great for setting make up without looking cakey and gives the skin a lovely looking glow.

This next product is 100% my favourite concealer/highlighter hybrid, the Estée Lauder Brush On Glow Double Wear BB Highlighter (phew!) it knocked YSL's Touché Éclat right out of the water from first application. It's a twist up pen style concealer and it is just incredible for brightening up those bluey purple tones under eyes and because the coverage is pretty high it does a great job at combatting any redness or blemishes. Another reason why I love this is because It highlights like a dream. I've already gone through one and as soon as my student loan comes through it'll be an instant re-purchase.

I needed a new mascara and after demolishing g a sample of Benefit's Roller Lash I knew it would fill the gap of my beloved Chantacaille one that I used to death. It's got a curved wand so it really does cling on to every lash to lengthen, volumise (not clump) and hold a curl like nothing I've ever tried before. I know it's a bit of a marmite product but I absolutely love it.

Onto eyes and after realising I was boarding on monobrow territory, I knew they needed a serious overhaul. After plucking away those pesky hairs, I have been reaching for Soap and Glory's Brow Archery pencil in the shade Hot Chocolate and L'oreal's Brow Artist Plumper in Light Medium. I love the pencil, I cannot fault it, the shade is perfect, the size is perfect and you even get a spoolie to comb through. I'm not too sure on the L'Oreal offering yet but I have review a full coming soon, once I have had a chance to test it out some more. I have also been loving Soap and Glory's Supercat Eyeliner for both defining my eyes slightly to going fully winged out - this stuff is great!

Finally my all time favourite blush/highlight, the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Diffused Heat. A really beautiful coral pink with flecks of highlight running through, it's pricy but it's hands down my favourite blusher.

What have you guys been loving lately?
