My best friend is doing her year abroad as part of her modern languages degree, so when she invited me for a long weekend I jumped at the chance. From the buzz of the Piazza Maggiore to the beautiful old architecture dating back to the Roman times, an eclectic mix is the understatement.
We stayed in the Hotel Aemilia and were given the warmest of welcomes. Nothing was too much trouble, the bed was an absolute dream and the bathroom is definitely something us interior geeks could get excited about. Breakfast was included and all I can use to describe it is extensive. Everything from fresh fruit to cereal with yoghurts and even a fully cooked breakfast - suffice to say we stocked up for busy days roaming the streets of Bologna, drinking cappuchinos, eating gelatos in the sunshine and munching on the freshest pizzas I have ever seen. And don't even get me started on wine consumption...
Every night before bed, the thought of our flight home looming made me long for just a few more days but we have already made plans to go again in April.
Thank you Bologna and thank you to my best for everything, see you both again soon!
