New Skincare Finds

My skincare has been a bit too relaxed lately, and it has really shown on my complexion. With uni deadlines looming left, right and centre, skincare has taken a bit of a back seat and as a result my skin has become really congested and just lack-lustre. These products have really been saving my bacon and I have seen a noticeable difference on my skin, so without further ado, let's have a looksy!

I have been kick-starting the process (after cleansingobviously) with the Lush Tea Tree Water. A few spritz of this on a cotton pad really helps to freshen and wake up skin, as well as getting rid of any nasty residue and left over cleanser. I didn't really use toner's before picking this one up but it has really changed my opinion on them. Everyone knows that cleansing never gets rid of everything so when I used this and saw all the dirt that materialised I was really shocked. People often think tea tree water is astringent but as someone with dry/dehydrated skin I have not found this stripping in the slightest, it has anti-bacterial properties to help defend skin from further spots which is always

a plus!  If you are new to toners like myself, then give this one a go - it will definitely be repurchased when I run out.

Secondly I have been using the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo [+}. La Roche-Posay was a brand I hadn't heard before entering the world of blogging, when every woman and their dog seemed to be using it, and a recommendation from my lovely pal Amy made me finally take the plunge and buy it in a Boots 3 for 2 sale. And I am so pleased I did! After a really nasty hormonal break out, I tried everything to get my painful and angry spots to go away but to no avail. Since I have been using this every morning and evening (about half an hour after cleansing) the results have been astonishing. The angry red marks have faded quickly and easily and those nasty under-the-skin spots are gone. If you suffer from regular breakouts or just hormonal ones like myself I could not recommend this stuff enough!

Aaaand lastly, we have the Neal's Yard Frankincense Hydrating Cream. I bought this from Waitrose on a whim as I have lost my beloved Korres moisturiser and was after something thick and creamy in consistency, and boy, did I get it! This stuff is wonderful for unsightly dry patches and dehydrated skin, I tend to use it at night as lathering it up achieves a really deep-down hydration that when you wake up your face is like silk. This product might be a little too rich for some and could potentially cause breakouts, but it obviously depends on your skin type, but for dry and dehydrated skin - I couldn't recommend it enough. The packaging is clear and simple and my only gripe is the pot, which is slightly unhygienic, it also has a really lovely, calming smell.
